"Don’t let the 1 star reviews steer you away! I’ve been coming to Matjoa House since their Clearwater location and never had an issue with their service or food quality. It’s a KBBQ spot so the meat comes out raw, if anything it’s user error for not knowing how to cook the meat. If that is an issue the servers help guide you. The quality of the meat is top tier (the best kbbq in Florida) and all the side dishes (banchan) are ALL DELICIOUS. You can tell a lot love and effort goes into making them. If cooking at the table isn’t your jam, they also have a full menu of Korean entrees and soups. I’ve tried everything of their menu and you can’t go wrong with anything. Give them a try and support small businesses"

"We always have such a hard time choosing what to eat as everything on the menu has its own delicious charm. We had the opportunity to introduce my aunt and uncle in laws to their first Korean meal today, and it was incredible as usual. To start off, we had the seafood pancake (which was cooked to perfection), Korean bbq (brisket, pork belly, rib eye and filet à la carte) and seolungtang. All the dishes were exactly as I expected- so yummy! Even each of the banchan were cooked with so much flavor, and we were so impressed with the spicy Chinese broccoli(?). They change the banchan every day so you know they’re fresh! The friendly environment and delicious food really made this such a great experience for our family. Will be back next time we’re in town!"

"I've been to 5 different Korean BBQ places around Tampa FL and this is the best and the customer service is 10/10. The meat is well marinated and tender. All you can eat includes 2 beers per person. Comes with miso soup and a bunch of stuff. First time here. We had a Caucasian gentleman that also spoke Korean and he waited on us like we were Royalty. Definitely worth my 30+% tip. Great atmosphere and a bit of soft music in the background. I will be back !!!! After I lose this weight after eating soo much! Thank you sir"

Every dish is a hit — from the short rib and shrimp to the bibimbap and dumplings — everything is packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. (Ask for their cowboy butter when grilling shrimp — you’ll thank me later!) I highly recommend the All You Can Eat – Option B for the full experience. The service is top-notch — Alvaro takes great care of guests, and owners Joe and his wife are truly some of the nicest people you’ll meet. Fantastic food, amazing atmosphere, and genuinely kind people — can’t wait to come back!"

"FOOD IS AMAZING!!!!! I come here often and everyone else should as well. The food is partially devoured so please excuse this photo but we just couldn’t wait. I ordered the Korean Short Ribs, Cheese Corn, and Japchae. Highly recommend this dishes. This food is beyond delicious and the staff is so inviting. The short ribs are perfect thickness, slightly saucy, and has a nice grilled taste. The cheese corn is not overly cheesy and has a beautiful crust. The japchae has the perfect ratio of meat and veggies with a well balanced sauce. An honorable mention should also go to the banchan but mostly the spicy fish cakes, which are the best I have ever had. The portion sizes are worth the prices. Simply put….COME EAT HERE. "Matjoa is the best Korean bbq you can find. The food is delicious, and the service is phenomenal. They helped us cook the meat and showed us the traditional way to eat the food using all of the ingredients. I definitely recommend the kimchi pancake"

"We had gone to their former location in Clearwater and weren’t impressed at all. We decided to try this new location, and they have genuinely turned things around. Super friendly service, good,food and terrible k-pop music (j/k). We were impressed and quite happy that we discovered a new legit Korean restaurant in Tampa. We will return."
